Everybody’s face ages differently, thanks to genetics, lifestyle and other factors. For many adults, it’s the eyes that start to age first. You’re healthy, active, and you feel young, but saggy, droopy eyelids or bags under your eyes make you look stressed. Tired. Unhappy. Older than your years, and older than you want to look.
Blepharoplasty can fix that.
It’s an eyelid lift – a cosmetic surgical procedure that can be performed on your upper or lower eyelids, or both, to restore a firmer, more youthful appearance to your eye area. Blepharoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure and takes just a couple of hours, but the results can take years off your face. Best of all, you can get your eyelid lift surgery right here at Beverly Hills Sunset Surgery Center International in Dubai, performed by one of the world’s top plastic or cosmetic surgeons.
What can blepharoplasty do for you?
Say goodbye to droopy upper lids. As we get older, our skin loses elasticity and starts to sag. The skin around your eyes is especially thin, so it can be more vulnerable. When upper eyelids start to sag, the skin can make it more difficult to fully open your eyes, and it can overhang your eyes, interfering with your peripheral vision. Therefore, for some people, loose eyelid skin is more than a cosmetic concern. Surgery can not only rejuvenate the appearance of your upper lids, it can literally improve eye function.
Say goodbye to puffy pouches of fat and dark circles under the eyes. Sagging lower eyelid skin can produce a “hangdog” appearance. Aging can also cause fat deposits to shift, causing under-eye puffiness. Lower lid surgery can correct these problems, restoring a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Blepharoplasty does not change your eyes in any way, it simply (but significantly) refreshes their appearance. You will look younger and more alert.
What does the blepharoplasty procedure involve?
Blepharoplasty is an in-office procedure, typically performed using local anesthesia with sedation, although this is something you will decide with your surgeon. To correct upper lids, the surgeon will make an incision along the natural crease in the lid and separate the skin from underlying fat, then reposition the fat as required, remove excess skin, and suture the remaining skin together. Usually, sutures are absorbable.
For lower lids, the surgeon makes a tiny incision inside the lid, removes or repositions fat as required and then closes the incision.
Depending on the details of your procedure, it will take an hour or two. When you awaken from the anesthesia you’ll be able to go home. You’ll have special eye care instructions to follow, and you will have some initial bruising and swelling. But most patients are back to normal daily activities after one week. Because incisions are strategically placed, chances are very good that no one will ever notice them.
If you’re considering other facial rejuvenation procedures, from facelift surgery to a non-surgical treatment of some kind – these can usually be combined with a blepharoplasty.

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyelids. Blepharoplasty is actually the only way to remove protruding fat pads, especially for those who are overweight and have an increase of fat. Surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both. Whether you want to improve your appearance or are experiencing functional problems with your eyelids, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area surrounding your eyes.
